I have two tickets to the Wire show at the Black Cat on 7/14. I can't go, so I'm offering them to you. Email me at: au6553@gmail.com

Crap. I just logged on and saw your messages. Whenever you want to do something, email me at au6553@gmail.com
I am excited to meet you all!
Since I posted my email, I am just going to assume the solicitations for natural male enhancement products start now.

Show a dead, racist senator a good time

I'm finally up here, with most of my life stashed in boxes that I don't have any plans to unpack. Where do you all meet up? Assuming you do that sort of thing... what with the restraining orders and all. I get off work in DC at 5, and I'm back in Takoma Park by 6.

Maryland car inspection?

Does anyone know of a good inspection station near or around Takoma Park?
This is the first state I have lived in that required an inspection for registration.

Thanks

Re: Advice on living in DC?

Change of plans. I am going to be living in Takoma Park. I will soon be driving a Uhaul full of all of my crap (along with my car on a trailer) to Takoma Park from Saint Petersburg, FL. What is the best route to take when I get close to the DC area? I would really like to avoid the terrifying traffi...

Re: Advice on living in DC?

Ok, well am I ever embarrassed. I've found a place in Hyattsville, so I'm not coming up there on Thursday. The problem is I already sold the cat for food in anticipation of moving to Hampden. Live and learn, I guess. At any rate, I look forward to meeting you all in person after I start my job on th...

Re: Advice on living in DC?

Nevermind. I answered my own question. I see that you can park at some of the outlying Metro stations and take that into the city when the Marc trains aren't running.

Whatever happened to Airborne? I remember Airborne and DC Rob from the Scooterbbs.

Re: Advice on living in DC?

I can't thank you enough for your help. I would be lost without you all. One of the requirements of my new job is to show up one Saturday per month. If I live on the Marc line, say in Baltimore, you see the problem – the Marc train doesn't run on Saturday. So, how stupid is it to try to commute by c...

Re: Advice on living in DC?

Thanks. I will definitely start trying that approach on Craigslist. What do people think of Baltimore, specifically the Bolton Hill neighborhood that is near Penn Station? The commute isn't terrible, there are lots of trains to choose from, the buildings are quaint, and rents are reasonable. Is ther...

Re: Advice on living in DC?

Thanks. That sums it up pretty well. If I meet you in Frederick, I will be sure to leave the cat at home. Do you commute to DC everyday?

Let me try a different approach. Does anyone know of an apartment finder service that they would recommend?

Re: Advice on living in DC?

Thanks. I will be working a half mile from Union Station.
I probably should mention I have a cat. Alot of the ads seem to say no pets. I can see this is going to be a challenge!

Re: Advice on living in DC?

Thanks. I will never get close to the rent I had in Florida, which was $675 for a large one bedroom in a nice neighborhood.  Where do you look for apartments in the DC area? My experience in Florida is that Craigslist is now the source of the worst deals and scam artists, so that's why I ask. I'm tr...

Advice on living in DC?

Hello. I used to be on the Scooterbbs with the handle Strom Thurmond. I'm about to move to DC for a job, and I know absolutely nothing about it. Anything you can tell me about living and working in DC would be greatly appreciated. I've been there all of once. I was thinking about living in Frederick...
