WTB allstate parts

Postby epsato » Sun Aug 21, 2011 12:55 am

Who's holding? Need the VNB goods- can I get it running by Scoot a que?

Needed:

Handle grips-old ones slip
Carb rebuild kit-20/15 size I think
Cables- need rear brake and clutch cable for sure. Gear shift and front brake cables are working, throttle cable was stuck but went fine after a little prodding.
Nuts n bolts kit- need to replace floor bolts. Rusty and ugly.
Spark plug
Gas n oil 2 % cup
2stroke oil
Engine oil- gotta replace the oil bath after 10 years idle. suggestions on type?
Air filter-current one has a hole
air Bellows-ditto
Gear Levers- One's sticky and may need replacing
Shock/fork- talk to me this one's shot!

Want list (as in, not needed yet but would make for a fun winter project):

VBB top end
big bore exhaust
floot rail kit
rubber trim stuff (want to cover with the black rubber on the legshield).

Good news: Tires are in good shape, frame's solid, original paint still looks decent, gas tank looked clean. A little TLC should get this one back on the road (famous last words)

allstate parts-pretty please

Let me try this once more:

Does anyone here have a b6HS spark plug to sell me?

How about an air bellows?

How about replacement hand grips?

My scooterjerks order arrived today with the cable set and carb rebuild kit, so I plan to do some work on the scoot. On the offchance I get it done tonight I can't test it out to see how bad things are without the spark plug and handlebar grips.

The airbellows would be nice, but I'll seal that beach up with duct tape for now if I have to.

anyone? i can pick up and will pay cash.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have any short-reach "H" plugs, only extended "E" ones, since that's all my bikes use/take.

You can't clean/re-use the one on there for now? Is there one?

it was pretty nasty looking and had sat for a decade, so I thought a new one would be a better idea.

Yeah, but try and clean it up, might be fine.

You can get spark NGK spark plugs at Advance auto for about $3.

They usually don't have the B7's and B6's in stock but you can order them and get them the next day.

Forgot to mention I'd tossed it...

Colin's got one. I'll stop by to pick up this evening, and Mike Lehman from Philly's got a spare bellows.

Also,

Meyers Cycle Engineering in Kensington has most NGK's in stock, their prices are more than reasonable and Deep (that's the guy's name) is into anything old. (Unlike Airborne)

Oh, and Meyers stocks Silkolene 2T oil. (Possibly just for me, since they claim I'm the only one who buys it) Which is a nice touch.

What Mike said. Advance or NAPA. why don't you just order a bellow and a filter from Scooters O? Nuts and bolts can be had at any hardware store for the runners...But you are more than welcome to come and dig through my used nut and bolt bins :)
That's not going anywhere

Couple more tips

For oil.. again go to advance and get SAE30 wt non detergent. You DO NOT want synthetic oil.

For the front fork.. there is probably nothing wrong with yours except it's an allstate pogo stick.. so by design it's bouncy.

You can keep the fork and replace only the hub with a VBB one if you want to save money. You'd have to have two tabs welded onto your fork so the shock will have an upper mount. I am sure that Ice house or I could do this for you.

And for hubs/forks.. DO NOT buy a new fork or hub.. the newer forks and hubs are coming in from india or some place is asia and they are pure crap. So if you get a VBB hub stick with an old VBB one. Perhaps one will show up at NSP this year.. they usually do.
