Too Lean

Postby beth » Tue Aug 22, 2006 6:08 pm

As in I am running my mixture too lean - just want to confirm that I should turn my mixture screw counter-clockwise to make it richer.

Yep. Best way to do it is to increase your idle so that its revving a little higher than usual. Give your fuel air mix screw 1/8 turns counterclockwise at a time, waiting 10 seconds to see if it further increases idle. When you get to the point where turning the mix screw doesn't increase idle anymore, turn it back (clockwise) 1/8 turn, then readjust your idle screw so that it idles normally. When you rev it, it shouldn't bog or hesitiate.
