Smallframe Rear Tires

Postby toigo » Tue Mar 11, 2014 2:52 pm

So what is anyone here rocking on the rear of the their smallframe? I've got a Michelin S1 3.00J - 10 which is rubbing on the exhaust manifold coming off of the engine. I need only a few more millimeters of clearance and I'll be fine. I thought the S1s would work, but is there another size that's slightly less tall that will work or should I get something other than an S1 on there.

Stock manifold? Can you heat it up and give it a little bend out of the way?

So I managed to loosen the cylinder shroud and got at the 2 bolts holding the manifold on. There's a lot of wiggle room on the two studs that the manifold mounts on, so I was able to just push it up as I torqued it back down and got the room I needed.

Nice. There is an advantage to awful Italian/Asian craftsmanship.
