Can some explain the difference to me?

Points rely on mechanical components to regulate the spark and timing (to some degree). Mechanical components have a tendency to loosen up their tolarances, thus throwing the timing out. They also can get dirty and wear down, resulting in a less strong spark. CDI uses a mystery box to do all of this. It usually works great, except for when it dosen't .

Oh, and it gives you the right to say Primavera ET3 instead of plain Primavera.

However you can also adjust your points more than you can with electronic, therefore adding an additional field to your tuning structure.

If you're into tuning that is.

Electronic is more reliable, points are more tunable

Plus points are cool.

They really are easy if you just pay attention to what you're doing and give them a good swipe with a piece of sandpaper every so often.

Plus you can replace them for $2 and 10 minutes.
