I fed it some of my deathless prose and it came up as James Joyce. A bigger sample, I was Kurt Vonnegut. I'll have that publishing contract now, please....

The thing actually did a good job of identifying samples of Mark Twain, Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, Mary Shelley, and A. Conan Doyle. You know, Dead White Guys. (Well, except for Mary) Not so good at Christopher Marlowe or Dostoyevsky though.

Guy says he put it together on his own in three days. Wonder what it would be like if he had some financing and time to work on it....

I fed it four articles, two pieces of my better work from the past two weeks and two articles of schlock that will pass as journalism. Topics ranged from NASA layoffs to a Supreme Court case on employment exams. Came up David Foster Wallace and Cory Doctorow, twice each.

Hmm...something seems fishy. Plugged in the lyrics to the Decemberists "On the Bus Mall" and again came up David Foster Wallace, then tried the Bouncing Souls "East Coast Fuck You" and got Stephen King.

I plugged in a Hemingway quote and got Tom Clancy.

two of mine came up with David Wallace and one with Poe.

I wonder if putting in quotes from the Bible would come up with "God"?

It handles bad prose?

Yeah, but that's like 90% of poets, so, the sample's biased :P
